After getting tired of having to change out of the sweat-soaked T-shirts while playing fullback at the University of Maryland, Plank was inspired to come up with a better alternative by using a moisture-wicking fabric. He developed his first prototype of the shirt, which he gave to his teammates and friends. Taking his driven football discipline, that line of T-shirts turned into the global brand Under Armour, one of the top sports apparel companies in the world with annual revenue skyrocketing to $3.9 billion dollars in 2015.
