Sir Richard Branson once said that the most important thing to do when starting a business is to just survive. “For anyone who starts off without financial backing it is one long struggle and there is really only one word that matters: “Survive”.
He goes on to say that while charity giving is very important, it is not essential in the early stages of forming your business. That time should be allocated for you to create a strong base for your company. Set aside goodwill until you are in a position to take care of your own undertakings. Once you have a secure base you will be able to do more good for more people than you ever could as a fledgling company that is just trying to keep the ship afloat.
