I was fortunate enough to have been in attendance at the Miss USA pageant this year where I witnessed the farewell of Miss Rima Fakih, as well as the crowning of Miss Alyssa Campanella. I also ran into plenty of good people there, some who I got to take pictures with like Lil Jon and Miss North Carolina.
Rima Fakih, the first Arab-American to win a Miss USA pageant, accomplished a lot whole holding the title while having to deal with media coverages that expressed distaste in her non-conservative Muslim lifestyle. That didn’t stop her from getting involved with te bigger projects! Fakih was actually at the Fashion 140 event with Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford about a month ago, in which panelists were asked to speak about the importance of social media and how it has changed out world today. Nevertheless, they’re both sweet young ladies.. .
