Perrier Returns to the Airwaves

Perrier is currently resting in the beginning stages of the “Lifestyle” phase as they try to re-brand their product to a younger demographic. The brand is promoting a new online campaign called “Le Club Perrier where it promotes itself as “the first interactive YouTube experience that gets sexier, steamier, and wilder as the number of viewers goes up.” Right when you think you’re going to see some skin the tag line “Can you handle the heat?” appears on the screen. What a tease!

IKEA Business Cards

Fast Company wrote up a good article about your business cards being a billboard for your brand and how IKEA has covered every corner when it comes to living up to its brand and what it stands for. The ‘Spike Lee’ Brand

“I can’t define [my brand],” he told the audience. “But I knew early on, I’d have to create some kind of persona behind my name because companies weren’t going to spend millions of dollars to promote my films. . . . Do the Right Thing opened same day as Batman . . . We can’t take out full page ads in The New York Times the same day Batman opens . . . so we had to do other stuff.”

Personal branding is crucial, especially in the entertainment world. It can either make you or break you. In Spike’s case, it allowed him to do some cross branding with NIKE. After receiving a call from a big time advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy post the release of his first feature film She Gotta Have It, Spike was paired with NIKE to direct TV commercials. What resulted was a series of iconic ads that helped propel both brand NIKE and brand Spike to the forefront of American pop culture. That said, congratulations on receiving the lifetime achievement award for your work in marketing!
