You’ve heard it before, but if you’re serious about growing your business in today’s world, you’ve got to be using social media. What doesn’t get talked about as much is how you can actually turn your social media into a business of its own.

I’m gonna drop some tips for you right now that I’ve learned along the way from my journey and from interviewing social media experts:
You’ve got to be posting on a regular basis. This is how you establish your brand, build a following and fight against the algorithms.
And I’m not just talking Instagram posts - we’ve got Instagram stories, reels, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, LinkedIn stories, Facebook, Facebook stories, YouTube, YouTube community posts - yep, the works. There’s an old concept that a customer needs to see an ad 7 times before they purchase it, and this can be easily done through social media.
INTERACT WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS
Did you know answering a complaint on social media can increase customer advocacy by 25%?
A complaint is an investment - they CHOSE to give you feedback on your brand. View those comments as an online, free focus group and use them to improve!
Great customer service is key for a strong online community. When you fix someone's problem efficiently and easily, they're going to mention that when people talk about your brand. More positive brand exposure = more leads.
Each post doesn’t have to be about pitching your brand, and in fact, it shouldn’t be. What I mean by brand consistency is that everything you post should be representative of your brand - and you ARE your brand!
Choose 2-5 words that represent your brand and stay true to yourself.
Take me for example: I post about my businesses and Shark tank, but I also post about my family, my background and humor because these are all important parts of who I am. If I started posting about a new dieting plan, it wouldn't make much sense for my brand, would it?
USE USER-GENERATED CONTENT
“79% of people say that user-generated content on social media significantly impacts their purchasing decisions” - that’s a lot of people!
FUBU utilized user-generated content ALL the time. Now, we didn’t have the advantage of posting that content online, but we had customers of all races, sizes and ethnicities promoting our brand.
User-generated content can open up your brand to groups of people you never thought imaginable, so USE it on your social media!
