Live, Laugh, Love.. The Spartan Way!

Power Journal Add comments

It’s amazing just how much laughter pets bring into your life! What’s even more entertaining is the look of understanding they give you when you do/say something to them. Whether or not they truly understand or it’s mere reactionary coincidence, I can’t help but laugh over it. I decided to record an incident with Spartan to show you what made my day!

Here’s the story:

I was looking around for my shoes when I realized that Spartan might have relocated my shoe, like he usually does, so I ducked down to look for it under my bed and said to myself, “That damn Spartan!”

Hearing him creepily move along on my bed, I looked up to see that he’s looking down at me with a look of “What the F–?!”

I guess I woke him up when I said his name and just chuckled to myself because of the look he actually gave me! We had a little staring contest, until he barked “Don’t ever do that again!” (Or at least, that’s what I was able to make out of it).

Then I realized, “Is he really barking at me?!” so I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine and barked back at him!

I thought, “That’ll do it.”

And it sure did. Spartan is the best! Just the fact that he actually took a step back and peeped over cracked me up!

What brings you laughter?

Cute dog story Daymond! Thanks for making us smile!

Laughter on a daily basis, I would have to go with my dog too. He is an old man now, so he plays dead quite often, we have to nudge him with our feet sometimes to wake him (he has selective hearing). He just looks at us like, okay, I’m up now what? Biscuits, food, play time? No, okay I will go back to sleep now.

    Thanks Again,
    Kristin

That is awesome! Dogs are the best aren’t they? Cute dapple! What makes me laugh is my six year old, Maddox – I swear he is Jim Carey reincarnated. I have a 22 yr old daughter, 15 yr son and Maddox. The conversations are quite amusing at the dinner table. (yep we still gather around the table)
Thanks for sharing your Spartan moment with us!

How cute! Spartan is just adorable! Dachshunds have the greatest personality. I have two of them. Rocky and Pearl, both female. Although Pearl is a brick shy of a full load, I still love her.

Oh my goodness, that was the most adorable thing I’ve come across this week! What a beautiful puppy! And you named him Spartan? Oh my God, it’s moments like those that you share with your pet -when you reflect on them- they just make you laugh so hard…(of course it’s not funny at the time when you’re going through it) (hahahahaha) That was touching…

  • Tina

That’s too funny! I have a long haired mini named Hamilton and he’s always barking at me trying to convey one message or another! They are a lot of fun! Love your dapple guy!

  • Renee Raymes

That is too funny! Made me laugh…:)

This story and picture brought me laughter! Animals really can understand especially dogs!

I work on a dementia unit. Dementia causes disinhibition, so patients can say some pretty wild things. For example, a patient tugged me by the sleeve, pointed to a female patient walking by and said “Watch out for him!”. I said “You mean HER?”. She replied “Don’t let him fool ya!”

This makes me laugh… and almost cry because he looks exactly like my little Carmella “Bella”. I truly believe dachshunds to have their own, very unique…sometimes neurotic – usually very funny and sunny dispositions!

Thanks for sharing – I love every pic you post of the boys :) .

Jen p.s. Glad he didn’t eat your shoe!

You gotta love this. I met Daymond’s previous dogs and I gotta tell you these guys are the greatest. You can’t not love them. I like the other guys as well but every once in a while you got the feeling you might be lunch:)

Funny – I have a Chow Chow that walks me to the door when I am going to work – as if to say “bye Mom” I need my silence. Recently I was home sick and he continually came to the bedroom door as to say “really you are staying home?”. I felt like I was distrubing him in my own house. He won’t get Prime Rib for at least two weeks – lol

    All the best with Spartan….

I laughed so much at your post that I forgot to leave a post about what makes me laugh!! I would have to say my chihuahua Onya and chihuahua mix YaYa. Onya is a little bit over weight because she always steals food from YaYa! Some days YaYa lets it go but then there are those days when she gets ready to tear into Onya, until Onya quickly lays on her back with her paws up to her chin and a look like “don’t hurt me I’m innocent I swear” and then as soon as YaYa turns her back Onya rolls over grabs the food and runs (and not very fast since she’s a bit on the chubby side). I just look at YaYa and say “haven’t you caught on yet??”

Hey Daymond- Thats one cute Doxie! We are a small manufacturer of funny printed dog hoodies and dog t-shirts, manufacturing locally in Montreal. My sister has a Doxie who is about as funny a sausage as you can find.

I’d love to send you some t-shirts or hoodies for Spartan. Oscar, my sisters dachshund loves the hoodies on rainy and winter days. Let me know where, and I will get some fun stuff out to you. Cheers

I want to express some thanks to you just for rescuing me from such a dilemma. After checking through the the net and finding tricks that were not productive, I thought my life was over. Being alive without the presence of strategies to the problems you’ve resolved by means of this article is a critical case, as well as the ones that would have negatively damaged my entire career if I hadn’t noticed your web page. Your own understanding and kindness in taking care of all the things was excellent. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I hadn’t discovered such a stuff like this. I can also at this time look forward to my future. Thank you very much for your professional and sensible guide. I won’t think twice to endorse your web site to anyone who would need care about this situation.

If the equine feels restless or starts acting crazy, this could previously be an indication of colic. The man or lady will require to remain a small way more the perfect time to create an assessment as a consequence of the simple fact it is in real truth also doable how the four-legged friend was spooked by something.
