I RESPECTFULLY disagree with part of your statement.  I agree that not everyone will give you their respect - but having &quot;self respect&quot; will prevent such a person from ever taking respect from you.  

I believe that EVERYONE deserves respect and the issue lies in humanity.  The key is learning to respect the differences in people thus keeping respect for the individual.  Demonstrating disrespect for another regardless of the reason is a true reflection of oneself
