Earn it…

You have to work hard in order to get the rewards you see other earn. Don’t allow yourself to take that time off, that cruise to Hawaii or that corner office without putting in the hours punching the clock. Knowing this, when you do get those well-deserved perks, you should enjoy them fully. There is no feeling like having the knowledge you did your best, and that you may now claim your prize.

It may not be gladiatorial combat, but it’s the thrill of victory nonetheless. Those winning moments, and the spoils of executive war are the things that keep the greatest businessmen edging towards the top. All it takes is a little taste of that life for you to get hooked, for you to make it your goal to be on top.

This post reinforces your consistent advice on goal-setting.

Setting and realizing goals, is a great way to bench-mark your ongoing success. These bench-marks let you know when “you did your best, and that you may now claim your prize.”

Thanks for the motivation and insight.

My nana told me to work hard in life at an early age and the end my harvest would be plentiful. I admired her then and still do, so of course I listened and applied what she said to me. First job I had was a soda girl at my nana’s chicken coop at the state fair and the pay was $100 dollars. My duty was to dig my hand in a big bin that was big as me and full of ice with a variety of Coke and Pepsi products. I was young and excited to even have a job and to work with with the older members of my family. In fact you would of thought I was digging for Gold and not sodas that is how honored I was. The next year my nana upgraded to Coke and Pepsi machines. Oh, I was over both soda machines, and I was permoted to cashier too so the hard work paid off. Not bad for a thirteen year old.

When I was sixteen I bought a 1991 Red Volkswagen Jetta, because I saved six checks(nana’s advice) which took three months. I also took my permanent fund dividend and my nana gave me hers too, which in total was about $5,000 dollars.
I share these two childhood stories to remind people that hard honest work truly pays off. I used to walk miles to work on my two feet, rode my bike, took a taxi here and there, but I had a goal and that was to have my own car. It also helped by me buiding a relationship with the Nissan dealership owner. He trusted me so much I literally test drove different vehicles each day until I found the one I liked. I guess I always had a little SHARK in me!! Smiles!!!

From your mouth to God’s ears. I’m working my ASS off… ohh, sorry Lord. And I’m just praying that I’m not just spinning my wheels. I have a funny feeling in my belly that everything I’m working on is all going to hit big, all at the same time. I’m going to need an assistant! 5 sources of income… need I say more. Is it okay to have so many balls in the air, or should we pick one and concentrate on it first before moving onto the next? Maybe it all depends on the person. Right now, I could use 3 more of ME!
