I agree and would like to add on to this post. I feel perception is the issue. It's how we look and think about things, issue. Another thing is how e execute our priorities and which things are actual priorities and which are hinderances. Everything we think is important part of reaching the next step sometimes isnt of any worth or just not for that moment. I have this saying;
"we must look out of different windows, than the ones in front of us"

Good post D

That is amazingly true. But for many people this comes out of not having a solid direction or tangible examples to emulate. I think Daymond and other individuals like him make positive examples for people who are naturally driven and focused. For the other level of individuals they need closer examples like people in their community or ones they have grown up with. One of the biggest problems is that the influences that are most accessible to these individuals are the negative ones.

Its a chain-reaction. That being said we like the people reading and being encouraged by this Daymond John post have to do our part in transferring the inspiration down the line. Not everyone might read this post or be inspired by Daymond but I’m pretty sure those that do probably have someone in their own lives they can influence or inspire. So pass it on

Daymond, you hit the nail on the head.

I gave a speech last week to a group of non-profits on how to create partnerships. Many of them work in the inner city (like me) and many of them are baffled that they can’t get many of the residents to take part in the free programs that could empower them and their FAMILIES and get them out of the hood. It still baffles me that gettin to the club is more important than getting out of a neighborhood where children are being randomly shot while they sleep in their own bed by some jackass who thinks opening fire in a residental area makes him a man.

I struggle daily with continuing to help this segment of society; since it’s the one I’m from. And if it weren’t for the sake of the children, I wouldn’t go to work tomorrow.

And yes, I have a working plan that will give me an exit strategy - before I burn out (completely).

Very powerful, I’m glad I ran across this blog via Twitter. I am definitely posting this quote for my readers “SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE SPEND MOST OF THEIR THOUGHTS ON THINGS OF HIGH VALUE, AND UNSUCCESSFUL PEOPLE SPEND MOST OF THEIR THOUGHTS ON THINGS OF LOW VALUE”.
